Ok, this is what i quote from my friend, Hon Chin Hoi, a conversation between her and a Pisang. All Chinese school students, please read it and give your first comment!
Feel free to scold in my blog!
"" is what PISANG said, () is what I say
PISANG said"i even told my parents that im not against chinese education..its just that most chinese medium school pupils dont fare well in their english subject and also speaking in english..unlike singaporeans, altho mandarin is compulsory to all, but they still speak both good english and good mandarin means like malaysian chinese school students always converse in chinese ONLY most of the time which does not give them the avenue to practice conversing in english."
I say,(who tells you so? who said sinagporeans are good in mandarin? sweeping statement! they can speak MAYBE, but I don't think most of them are good in writing and reading, only handful of them I can say )
PISANG said,"and theyre always very obedient, which is good la..obey the elderly etc..but the elderly (etc teachers) are not always right and u have to answer them back..yes discipline is good and chinese school emphasize on that but it should be a two-way relationship between people..and not just one-way relationship where the student haf to obey the teachers. And with all the disciplinary thingy going on in chinese medium school..the students end up being very scared to speak up for their rights and also very timid..call them to do somehting out of the ordinary and they will be scared..cos cannot break rule. i feel that its very bad for a child's upbringing lor"
I say,(hello, mister PISANG! Are you trying to tell me that you don't really give a damn in respecting others? Oh...I feel bad for you...We respect each other. We speak and communicate with the lecturer, we do it in a mutual way. u r juz english ed, but it DOESN'T MEAN YOU OWN THE RULES!
PISANG said again,"yes i know chinese is an important language..im not against it..im just against the outcome of students in the chinese erm way of thinking of running the school.like seriously, i do not respect those teachers at all cos they do not deserve it one bit. and perhaps that was how i learnt how to stand up for my rights as a student or whatever la."
I say,(I don't feel shame for respecting the others, because, there is this one lecturer once told me that she likes chinese schools' students because they are very polite and they respect you a lot, she even told me that SOME of the english ed students are RUDE!!)
PISANG said,"i just feel like the students are being pressured into memorizing stuff, n following rules..and for what?i duno la but i feel kan..that chinese medium school students right..will only stick to their own frens/group (very evident in college) and only a handful of them will reach out/expose themselves to making new friends. they end up being so timid and scared. perhaps cos of how they were brought up in chinese school"
I say, (timid? yea right! you are so open minded! so westernised! and you are even so proud of it! And so wat if we stick together! U guys also stick together in ur OWN group!!!)
PISANG said,"if we're in singapore then diff case..cos they emphasize on both chinese n english..that way, i oso wanna learn but in msia its either u go chinese school n be good in chinese..or go to malay school n be good in english"
I say,(Yea, singapore is TRYING very hard to emphasize on chinese, but, they are still TRYING though...I have to say that, your Chinese is bad, doesn't mean your the other friends who study in Malay school are bad in it too, it's just that YOU DON'T KNOW CHINESE. Same theory here, maybe some of the chinese schools students are not good in english, but it doesn't mean that ALL OF THEM are bad in English! stop making generalities like you this english-ed little thing is sooooo knowledgeable. )
C'mon english ed people! Stop looking down chinese ed people! Discrimination makes this world ugly! Why are you so proud of the other people's language but not yourselves'? 我以会说、读、写华文为荣!二十六个字母组成的字,和成千上万个不同的汉字相比,哪个比较难学?汉字的优美是没有其他语言可以取代的!I feel shame for you, as a chinese, you don't know chinese! 盲目地追寻、崇拜他人的语言、文化,而抛弃自己的语言、自己的根,多么可耻。You have no exact identity for yourself, you are just a westernised chinese. You don't admit that you are a chinese, but, they don't accept you as part of them. YOUR EGOISM WILL LEAD YOU NO WHERE! I'm proud to be chinese who knows mandarin, and I'm proud to be chinese school's student!
Quote all from my fren Chin Hoi...

chinese is the best~!!
thank you chengyah thank you!!! proud to be chinese!~~~~the PURE ONE!
